Technical Support: This product runs TOTALLY from the CD-ROM.... there is no installation of executable files onto the computer's hard disk. This product is a "click and go" program that should run correctly when the computer is configured correctly. If your video card, MIDI, Windows Multimedia Extensions and Sound card are set up according to the manufacturers' instructions, then you will encounter no problems. The computer should have enough Free RAM to run the software, play WAV audio files and MIDI music files. If any sound fails to play when the menu option is selected, then it indicates insufficient RAM to run it. Quit other programs and give the program sufficient RAM to operate correctly. Tech Support for Hot Skins software: 610-670-5730, 9AM to 5PM daily, Eastern Time. General Assistance to help re-configure systems is available at the rate of $60 per hour, billed in 10-minute increments. USA: 610-670-5730 Please have your Visa/Mastercard number handy when you call. We suggest that you contact your local computer dealer first because it is easier to re-configure a system "in-person" than over the phone. MEMORY: Hot Skins CD requires 580K of base/conventional memory to play all three of the following file formats at the same time: MIDI & WAV sound files; display Photos. Some parts of Hot Skins CD may not function correctly if you have less than 580K of available base memory. Please consult your Windows / DOS / Owners manual to free up more base/conventional memory. Windows' memory: If the computer has less than 8MB of RAM, then problems with MANY multimedia products in today's market may be encountered because Windows itself can require most of the available RAM if (a) MANY multimedia extensions are installed or (b) if MANY fonts or system resources are installed. The solution is to install additional RAM chips or clean out the system of items that are rarely used. SCREEN RESOLUTIONS: Either 640x480 or 800x600 with small fonts should be used for Hot Skins. Other resolutions will display a larger border around the active area. ASPECT RATIO: If the photos appear fat or elongated, adjust your video monitor's dials. SOUND TOO LOW OR TOO HIGH: Adjust the MIDI volume using the sound board mixer controls (part of your sound card software). Consult the sound card manual that came with the sound card. VIDEO MONITOR: If difficulty is encountered displaying at least 256 colors on the video monitor, then configure the Windows video setup in accordance to the instructions or floppy disk that came as part of your video card / video monitor package. If you are unable to configure the video card yourself, this hardware/software assistance is best performed by the dealer that sold you the equipment and is familiar with it's idiosyncracies. There are too many equipment manufacturers and therefore too many variables to effectively provide assistance via long-distance telephone.
